WHO IS INSPIRE ?
Shamara ‘Inspire’ Spencer is a 29 year old creative director, choreographer and dancer hailing from the cool hills of Manchester, Jamaica. She has been dancing from the tender age of six, performing and competing at JCDC and training with Ayaedeh Flamez, a performing arts group directed by Juliette Colie and Lee White.
In 2016, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance at the University of South Florida. While working in the United States, she auditioned for VYB Dance Company and later on became captain and choreographer for the dance team and the resident dancehall and Caribbean dance instructor for the studio.
In March 2018, she officially returned to Jamaica after completing her studies and work program. It was at this moment that she decided to pursue dance and choreography as a career.
In less than a year of creating dance videos, networking and training with other dancers, she managed to penetrate the Jamaican creative industry and quickly gained recognition and credentials.
Rendering services for Disney, National Geographic, Sean Paul, Protoje, Vybz Kartel, Koffee, Digicel (Regional), Red Bull and appeared in projects and campaigns for H.E.R, Afro B, Buju Banton, Campari and many more.
She boldly tackled her creative direction skills in 2020 by spearheading a dance production titled ‘THE HOT GYAL SUMMER PROJECT’. Which aimed to highlight multifaceted female dancers in Jamaica and address the issue of the unintentional use of dance in the entertainment industry. She believes that this unintentional use of the art form has aided in the devaluation of dance in Jamaica.
She is determined to become a world renowned choreographer and creative director. Most importantly she wants to achieve balance. Hence why she lives by the words “Breathe In, Breathe Out.

SHE IS A MOTHER
Inspire is a mother to a handsome baby boy who has renewed her purpose in life. She is even more motivated to go after her dreams and show him that anything you put your mind to is possible. She has done a great job thus far at balancing her careers with her motherly duties.
SHE WAS 4 MONTHS PREGNANT IN THIS COMMERCIAL
Just as she completed her first trimester, she was approached to play the lead role in a Digicel TVC! Like the true champion she is, she accepted the role and danced so well that those who were not given a heads up did not even notice she was pregnant. As the lead, she even had to film another segment after all the other dancers and background talent wrapped for the day.
SHE IS A FINANCE GIRL AT HEART
Inspire has not completely given up on her love for Finance and Economics, She manages the financial operations of a Construction Company which is Family Owned. You may see her on the screen today but some days she is filing taxes and evaluating monthly financial reports and visiting construction sites. Although she grew up in a creative family filled with musicians, her family has its fair share of business owners. This has resulted in her passion for both business and the arts.
